Alongside working on the creative side of life, I've also gained plenty of corporate and commercial expertise.
For four years, I worked full time at the Ingenious Group, a leading media and alternative investment company in London. They hired me into their Venture Capital group, where I executed and then monitored over twenty investments into a wide range of start-ups across the media and technology sectors.
I then moved to the Film and Television Investments team, where I focused on striking development deals with major international producers.
These years gave me invaluable experience in commercial negotiation, project management and teamwork. They also gave me a strong sense of professional conduct and attention to detail that is, perhaps, atypical of many creatives. I truly enjoy this sort of work and am always keen to pitch in with ideas and time to help organisations achieve their aims.
I was invited to join the Creative Industries Advisory Group when it was formed in 2018. Via the Arts and Humanities Research Council, UK Research and Innovation will invest £100m into the British creative industries between now and 2023 as part of the Sector Deal, including some £80m into the Creative Clusters Programme. The group's role is to advise and challenge the executive team tasked with delivering this programme. After serving my three year term, I stood down in July 2021.
I have worked with many corporate clients, advising on anything from growth strategy to corporate communications. I particularly enjoy working with business leaders to shape the story they want to tell: about their company, their product and how they ended up doing what they do. Since starting at iGeneration Studios in July 2021, I've wound down my consulting activity.
